4-Mar-00: The garage looks very crowded before the move begins.



4-Mar-00: Pushing the fuselage into the light of day.




4-Mar-00: With the fuselage up on the roadside, it's time to confer with the expert. Marty Pavlovich has done this a couple of times before. The second airplane he built was a 6A. He arranged to borrow the trailer also.




4-Mar-00: Making sure that the ramp centres are 81" apart.



4-Mar-00: Initially, there was a problem with the tail scraping as the airplane was moved up the ramps. Putting the vehicle & trailer down the slope into the driveway resolved that problem.



4-Mar-00: Should I just stand in this position for the journey, or should we tie it down?



4-Mar-00: Relieved to have it up on the trailer.



4-Mar-00: Blocks of 2x4 were nailed in front of & behind each wheel, as well as being securely tied down, for the 10 mile jouney to West Bend Airport.



4-Mar-00: Finally into Jim Rodrian's hangar - I'm renting space, which will be shared later this year with Jim's Defiant. The whole event went smoothly, thanks to Marty Pavlovich & Keith Brue.




4-Mar-00: Keith then helped me move the wings, one at a time in his pickup truck.



7-Mar-00: Initial mounting & alignment of wings in progress. The HS & VS have also been mounted at this point. The airplane is supported by a custom cradle, built by an RV-6 builder.



26-Mar-00: First engine start



17-Apr-00: View of the fuse blocks & altitude encoder behind the panel on the right.



17-Apr-00: II Morrow SL30 & SL70 mounted on .063 angles along with the RST Engineering audio panel. The rack mounting unit for the Skyforce SkyMap IIIC is above the SL30.



17-Apr-00: The blue hoses are for connection to the vacuum gyros.



17-Apr-00: Finished panel cleko'd in place.



17-Apr-00: Elevator counterbalance arm ends filled with 3/16" balsa & two layers of 9oz bid cloth.



17-Apr-00: Aircraft registration paperwork completed, N86CG vinyl decal installed.



17-Apr-00: ELT antenna mounted horizontally under the empennage fairing.



23-Apr-00: Taxi test



27-Apr-00: Flap hinges safetied with .041 wire through a 1/16" hole in the flap brace.



29-Apr-00: Trim tab hinge safetied with .041 wire.



29-Apr-00: Area under the baggage floor before pop-riveting the floor.



30-Apr-00: Area under the right seat floor befor pop-riveting the floor.



30-Apr-00: Area under the left seat floor befor pop-riveting the floor.
