24-Jan-99: Wired the lighting circuits in the wings. Aeroflash strobe
power supplies are mounted on the forward side of the main spar in each wing tip. The local
grounding point for the wing tip lighting circuits is visible.
4-Apr-99: Wiring the panel switches. Most of these were supplied by AeroElectric
Connection, with fast-on spade connectors.
4-Apr-99: Master & Avionics fuse block busses. These 20 fuse units have spade connectors
& are both mounted so that by pulling the aft hinge pin,the assembly will pivot down on the
forward hinge for servicing. This is not supposed to be accessable in flight.
4-Apr-99: Interior lighting dimmer electronics. This is the 1.5A unit from AeroElectric
Connection. A screw terminal strip was added later to connect the separate lighting circuits.
18-Jul-99: Van's alternator regulator & AeroElectric OV module.
Voltage adjustment is through a hole on the other side. The yellow wire is left disconnected.
23-Oct-99: MAP module to left of regulator. A DB9 connector is wired to the EIS-4000
engine monitor. Nyloflow tubing goes through the firewall to the sensor manifold, then
a -4 hose to the #3 cylinder port.
2-Jan-00: ELT coax & control cable, Nav coax & elevator trim cable runs to tail.
Tie-wrap cradle bases are pop riveted to the J stringer for cable supports. The ELT antenna
will be mounted horizontally under the empennage fairing. The Nav antenna is mounted
on top of the vertical stabilizer. The static tubing can be seen, supported by self-adhesive
tie-wrap bases just under the longeron.
15-Jan-00: View of right forward bay before riveting forward top skin. MAP module, alternator
regulator & OV protection unit. Also visible is the master relay, with wiring going up to
the two 30 amp maxi fuses, and the .040 backing
plate for the SS firewall shield protecting the wiring grommet through the firewall.

EIS-4000 wires that are unused at this point.

fitting is for the oil cooler door control cable.

regulator & filter are installed with the blue vacuum hoses. The aft side of the AeroElectric
grounding block is mounted on the firewall with a smaller version connecting on the engine
side via a massive brass bolt.

25-Jan-00: Defrost fans fitted. These will suck warm air from the cabin & radio stack -
no ducting planned. Also shows tabs with nutplates for windshield mounting.
