Miscellaneous modifications.
Once we started traveling in our RV, we quickly found that additional storage for charts
etc. would make our trips go more smoothly, particularly when IFR. Adding Van's
glove-box to the panel helped, but we still needed more storage space.
Van's glove box kit installation. Fortunately, there was just enough empty space on the
right side of the panel for this addition, although I did have to do some rearranging of the
altitude encoder etc., mounted in this area.
Map pockets were installed by our knees on each side of the fuselage. I keep mini mag-lites
velcro'd in position on each side, ready for night flights.
On the right can be seen a large trash bag
ready for a queasy Young Eagle, but fortunately unneeded so far!
I really like the flight guides sold by Airguide Publications
www.flightguide.com
The set, in three volumes, gives a lot of detail on all the airports in the United States.
I fabricated a box to hold these along with the local instrument approach book, & mounted
it just forward of the fuel selector.
Sue found a plastic container that fits nicely between the seats & holds the chocks, rudder lock,
peppermints etc. It was modified to fit against the slope of the flap mechanism. Gray
spray paint was used, with velcro to hold it down.
